Welcome to The Ark!!

You have signed up for a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity.

We at The Ark, have taken time and effort to make The Ark as comfortable as possible for your stay.

Please remember The Ark is part - scientific experiment and part – live art project, so a sense of humour, open mindedness and willingness to trust and try new things is necessary.

Here are some guidelines to help make The Ark a safe and relaxing space for all:

All phones and laptops should be handed into the welcome table when you arrive, so all participants can switch off from their busy lives during their time here.

Please wear your coloured badge pins as part of your own uniform, from wake up to shut down unless instructed otherwise. These are part of an ongoing experiment which will be conducted during the week.

Please arrive on time to all activities including meal times. If there are changes to the schedule they will be announced in advance.

Please bear with us if we don't have all your favourite food and drink options available.

You will get the most of The Ark if you can come with a positive willingness to participate in all areas of The Ark, including the ones you don't like or are not sure about.

You may not feel comfortable all of the time but all will be revealed by the end of the week. We look forward to your arrival.
50ml pear juice
25ml sage infused vodka
12.5ml vermouth
Shaken and then garnished with burnt sage
- Angelica and Nettle Water Kefir (Tibicos) - makes 1 litre

First Fermentation:
500ml water
30g Water Kefir Grains (sourced from organic supplier based in UK)
30g raw sugar

Infuse all ingredients in 1 litre jar and leave for 3 days at room temperature.
After the 3 days strain through a sieve and store liquid in airtight containers.

Second Fermentation
500ml first fermentation water kefir (above)
40ml nettle syrup

Pur the water kefir into a swing top bottle along with the syrup.
Close lid and leave at room temp for 12 hours. Open to release any pressure and store in the fridge for 2-3 days, burping the bottle daily. When happy with fizz and sweetness it’s ready!

Serve half and half with angelica tea.
